What to Expect in each Movement Lab?
Each class will be a deep dialogue with the body, by first, searching for the functional ranges of movement our bodies are able to move in.
Then we will prime our bodies for movement that will strengthen our ability to move with strength, stability, and function.
With this ability to thrive in our bodies we will take the intensity to higher levels to condition the body and reinforce the neural messaging to the muscular system.
You will walk away from this series more informed on how to move your body effectively and efficiently to prevent injury and thrive in all aspects of life.

About Coach Alicia:
Alicia Wang (pronounced Wong) will be coaching this introductory series. She has 20+ years of movement coaching in all realms from yoga to kettlebell flow and a masters degree in Kinesiology.
She cares deeply about teaching her clients how to move their bodies in ways that strengthen them without breaking them! She loves to work with people from all walks of life and all abilities. All bodies can be healthy and move well!
PHILOSOPHY
"I am continually inspired by the human body’s ability to change, grow and get stronger and more fit. I believe that every BODY can be fit and any size or shape.
Movement has to fit the body not the body fitting into a particular exercise.
Each of us are our own greatest teachers and when we tune into that wisdom, we are able to achieve anything we set out to do! A movement approach coupled with a strong foundation in science (kinesiology) will help you reach your highest level of well being."

Our Vision:
At Flow Shala, we aim to merge ancient wisdom with modern science, to provide an inspiring space to create and flow. To provide high quality movement & yoga classes to the Bellingham community and beyond, while creating a culture for the programs we offer. We aim to make our programs accessible and offer scholarships, work trade, and mentorship programs for new teachers in training.
We integrate Steel Clubs, Yoga, Steel Mace, RAD Roller, Foundations Training and more into one studio. We educate on injury prevention, pre and post rehab, mindfulness and Self Care that matters.
Flow Shala provides quarterly educational seminars recognized by Yoga Alliance as Continuing Education for people to attend and certify in our offerings, and bring a bit of the Flow Shala experience with them to their communities.
